Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster |
Date | 18 July 1890 |
Description | Rixcan find Foster plenty of ordinary French translators, the Westminster type-writing Offices, 2 Victoria Street, S.W. do it at one shilling per folio of 72 words, French into English, but he does not know of anyone and nor is he likely to hear of anyone who understands French scientific terms. It is possible White may know someone or be able to undertake the work himself. Rix will write to White about it this evening. Rix has concluded that it will be necessary for Miss Chambers to begin next week and for Mr White to return early from his holiday to coach her. Rix has offered White an extra week in consideration of breaking his holiday and White glady agrees. Rix thinks it will be unwise to engage extra copyists until Miss Chambers feels her feet a little and cannot see they will be wanted before Rix returns on 15 September, but he is sending one or two names to the Treasurer as suggestions just in case. |
