Description | The Council of the Royal Society have had under consideration the disposal of various parcels of manuscripts in their possession and have resolved that the following be offered to the Admiralty; observations of magnetic elements in 'Chanticleer', and meteorological observations, HMS 'Erebus' and 'Terror'. The Council are advised by Staff-Commander Creek FRS of the Hydrographic Department that the magnetic observations made by the 'Erebus' and 'Terror' are now lying at the Admiralty and the above named manuscript might be of use to the department. Rix is instructed to ascertain whether the manuscripts will be accepted. |
