| Description | Rix writes to complain of the frequent pilfering of stamps from book-plates addressed to the Royal Society and especially from book-plates coming from remote countries, the stamps from which are saleable. Packets are very frequently sent to the Society for eminent men and they are able to post them on if the stamps are left in tact, but if they are torn the Society has to pay postage. |
