Description | Rix notes Stokes' instruction to let the cheque for Professor Piazzi Smyth stand over. Rix believes Stokes has upon his list of deaths to be noted in his Presidential address that of Mr A J Ellis but wonders if he also has Sir John Davis who has died at the age of 96 and was elected in 1822. A letter had been received from the India Office with reference to Mr Allan Brown's observations. The Office ask for the manuscript of the meteorological observations and Rix asks how to proceed. |
