Description | There are no set regulations dealing with the matter of travelling expenses of delegates to the various bodies on which the Royal Society is represented, and no expenses either for travelling or for maintenance are defrayed out of the Society's funds. When an enquiry is undertaken, the expenses are defrayed by the Government. The travelling expenses are sometimes charged when visits of inspection have to made by the members, but this is not often. The only provision made for travelling expenses is made for delegates to the International Association of Academies by private beneficence. |
