Description | ''Dear Sir, I am much obliged by your letter of the 23rd instant and by your letting me see the sheet of manuscript from your collection which I return. Considering that we have the original Journals of the meetings of the Society from the beginning in 1663, I do not think that manuscript rough notes, such as are shown on the enclosed sheet, would be of any special interest to us, and I do not think the Society would be likely to make an offer to purchase a collection of them. Nevertheless, I am much obliged to you for giving me the opportunity of seeing the specimen you sent.' |
