Description | The Secretary of the Royal Society is directed by the President and Council to forward for the consideration of the Lords Commissioners of HM Treasury the report enclose on the needs for addition buildings at the National Physical Laboratory. The submission of this report has been deferred until now, on account of an intimation received from HM Treasury a short time after it was framed that applications for new capital expenditure could not then be entertained. The executive Committee of the Laboratory have recently reconsidered the subject; as the consider it very important that the development of the Laboratory should proceed on a uniform plan, they have requested the Royal Society to make application for the funds required. The Committee are desirable that the portion of the work of the Laboratory should be transferred from Kew to Teddington. |
