Description | The Secretary writes that he has been instructed by the President and Council of the Royal Society to state that they concur in the proposals contained in the letter of the 16th instant from Sir Richmond Ritchie defining more clearly the functions of the Indian Advisory Committee. The India Advisory Committee will not be expected to transmit a formal report on the annual proposals and work of the Board of Scientific Advice in India. The Committee will doubtless being willing, however, to communicate matters of scientific importance and to advise on matters that are referred. With regard to the Observatories Committee, the Royal Society will be glad to continue the close relations which have been maintained in recent years with the Indian Astronomy and Meteorological Departments . |
