Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to J [Joseph] Barcroft FRS |
Date | 10 January 1912 |
Description | 'Your telegram reached me this morning, and that short abstract of your observations on Col d'Olen addressed to Sir John Bradford has just arrived. I presume that this is intended to be set up for a meeting abstract, and that it will be followed by the paper before the day of reading. What we still lack and require for the purpose of announcement is the full titled of your communication, In the absence of one yesterday I had to take the responsibility of announcing your paper in "Nature" under the title of the research for which the grant was made to you by the Council last March, that is, I described it as "A paper on the effect of altitude on the dissociation curve of the blood". I trust this is not far wrong, but in the official notice of the paper next week we can put it in any terms you like.'
