Title | Copy letter from unknown correspondence to Sir Archibald Geikie, KCB, PRS |
Date | 29 March 1912 |
Description | Correspondent encloses an enquiry from Hart [no enclosure], which he feels is important and does not feel authorised to answer without Geikie's opinion; but he hopes he will accept his suggestion of the squarer paper, in lieu of the very unattractive format of the Royal Society Proceedings. Sir Joseph LArmor today was looking at the proof sheets of the Charter Book facsimile signatures, and expressed a strong feeling in favour of printing in the inner top corners of each opening the limiting dates of the period covered by signatures on that opening. Larmor asked the correspondent to write to geikie about it, and to say he thought it would be an improvedment to the book. The correspondent explains the details of Larmor's proposal. |
