TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Dr Thomas Clifford Allbutt, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date16 April 1891
DescriptionRix refers to the notice in large type on every certificate, which states that the certificate will not be resuspended, except by the request of someone who has already signed it. He further states that the reminder suggested by Allbutt was already printed among the "notices to Fellows" on the wrapper of 'Proceedings of the Royal Society', number 296.

Rix is sorry to disappoint Allbutt, but it appears that everything has been done in accordance with the Statutes. He will, however, being Allbutt's letter to the attention of his chiefs, due to the importance of the question raised.
