TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Edward Byron Nicholson, Bodleian Library, Oxford
Date20 July 1891
DescriptionRix responds to Nicholson's questions [about the French charts] to state that - they are unbound; the pile is almost two feet high, sized three feet 6 inches by two feet 4 inches; around 20 charts are added annually; the Admiralty themselves receive and keep them, so Rix supposes 'they do'. He further explains that they are sent to Cambridge by the French Government, but as far as the Royal Society are aware, no library in Oxford possesses them.
