| Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society to George Walker Walker Esq., FRS |
| Date | 2 February 1915 |
| Description | 'In reply to your letter of the 29th ultimo - 1. I personally do not think it that slightest use to ask the Admiralty for a vessel to take you about the Hebridies while the war continues, but it you wish it I will sound them on the subject. 2. We can no doubt, if it is considered politic, apply to the War Office for the facilities you mention, but I feel sure it will be necessary as a preliminary to know when you would propose to go to Ireland and the orecise course of your journey. If you can let me have these particulars I will discuss the matter with Professor Schuster when he comes up.' |
