Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Lord Kelvin [William Thomson], Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 3 June 1892 |
Description | Enclosed herewith Rix sends 15[?] figures in illustration of Lord [William] Armstrong's paper. Reproduction in the best style would cost upwards of £40, photo-lithography reproduction would cost £30-7-0, and as there are still about half a dozen illustrations to come, another £10 would probably have to be added. The Treasurer, John Evans, hesitated to decide upon publishing the figures without the opinion of the referees that their publication is advisable. The paper is presently in Kelvin's hands and Rix will be glad if, in sending his report, Kelvin will express his opinion on the above point. |
