Title | Copy letter from Francis Alexander Towle, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society; to Dr. Paget Toynbee; Fiveways, Burnham, Bucks |
Date | 4 April 1922 |
Description | Informs Dr. Paget Toynbee that they received a similar request to his some months ago from the Istituto Lombardo concerning the letters of Alessandro Volta, however, after giving particulars of them never heard back. Explains that the letters are from Volta to [Tiberius] Cavallo and [Joseph] Banks, not to De Luc, and were translated and published in the Society's 'Philosophical Transactions'. Notes that Dr. Toynbee would be welcome to call at the Library and consult them. |
