Title | Copy letter from Henry Hallett Dale, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Prof. [James Peter] Hill, FRS |
Date | 22 January 1926 |
Description | Clarifies the situation regarding the informal Annual Meeting between the members of the Council and of the Sectional Committees. Dispels the implication of a memorandum of previous years that voting should not take place. States on the contrary, the meeting is to allow for members of the Committees to freely express their recommendations and advice regarding the candidates for Fellowship, which will remian strictly confidential. Members of the Council who are also members of the Committees can take part in any vote taken, but not if there are only Council members. States that one Council member should state the nature of the advice given by the Committee, 'in the form of a short list or otherwise.' |
