Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor George Howard Darwin, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 14 November 1892 |
Description | At the meeting of the President and Council a resolution was passed which Rix quotes, stating that £25 be granted from the Donation Fund to Professor G H Darwin for assistance in the reduction of Tidal Observations on the understanding that the account of the expenditure of this grant be kept quite distinct from that of the sum already assigned from the Government Grant. This answers Darwin's query put to Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt] on the 27th. The other question Rix will submit to the Officers at the next opportunity. The publication of Darwin's paper would not be delayed by deferring the reading to 15 December. Rix has therefore noted for the guidance of the Secretaries that this is the date Darwin prefers. |
