Description | Engraving copied from a photograph taken at Rivabellosa, showing the Kew heliograph used to obtain photographs of the eclipse. The heliograph is surrounded by five men. Mr [George] Downes stands in a doorway at the right of the engraving, Mr Reynolds prepares to place a plate-holder in the heliograph, and Mr [Robert] Beckley watches the time on the chronometer.
