Title | Report from Harry Govier Seeley, on his paper 'Researches on the structure, organisation, and classification of the fossil reptilia. Part X. On the complete skeleton of an anomodont reptile (Aristodesmus Rütimeyeri, Wiedersheim), from the bunter sandstone of reihen, near basel, giving new evidence of the relation of the anomodontia to the monotremata' |
Date | 2 April 1896 |
Description | He still wishes for the paper to be published and gives a list of reasons why it should be. The species is new and he has seven letters to prove this. The animal was undiscovered before the paper and his interpretation is a contribution to the scientific method of animal structure. The order in which the papers have been produced has a relation to the conclusions which the series intends to establish. If the paper is omitted, it would 'destroy the sequence of argument and make a difficulty in stating or using the remainder of the evidence in hand'.
