| Title | Referee's report by Joseph Larmor, on a paper 'Two-dimensional problems in magnetic induction, with special reference to flux distribution in toothed-core armatures' by Henry Selby Hele-Shaw, Alfred Hay and P H Powell |
| Date | 27 February 1904 |
| Description | Sectional Committee: [Physics and Chemistry]
Not recommended for publication by the Royal Society, but may be of value to the Institution of Electrical Engineers. If the author so desires the Royal Society should publish a brief abstract in the Proceedings, stating that Carter's formula is verified by Stream-line experiments, as was to expected, but the method has already been very copiously illustrated in Philosophical Transactions and a couple of beautiful illustrative diagrams of stream-lines given on a plate would now suffice. Larmor thinks people would not go to the publication of the Royal Society to look for information on technology of a somewhat empirical kind, such as this paper affords.
