Title | Referee's report by Oliver Joseph Lodge, on a paper 'The accurate measurement of ionic velocities' by R B Denison and Bertram Dillon Steele |
Date | November 1905 |
Description | Sectional Committee: Physics and Chemistry
Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions, in full. No modifications are necessary and both the accompanying illustrations should be reproduced. In general the paper is a sound record of good work and the method is satisfactory. He employed a not dissimilar one, though less developed. Notes that it is often thought that he only used jelly, but this is not the case. The only query is whether the light used would not develop too much heat. The agreement of the results with theory in this paper is remarkable.
