Title | Memoranda from Robert William Frederick Harrison, and reply from William Dobinson Halliburton, on a paper 'The influence of cobra-venom on the proteid metabolism' by James Scott |
Date | 8 March 1905 |
Description | Harrison encloses the two referee's reports on Scott's paper [not attached]. Asks to know the next step to be taken with regards to the paper, which has not yet been accepted for reading.
Halliburton replies that the two referee's are in substantial agreement and there is no need for a third referee. He thinks the Committee will recommend the paper for publication in the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' with the abbreviations suggested by the first referee. Thinks it is not possible for the Chairman to himself authorize such a step, without a Committee meeting, but it is possible the paper might be accepted for reading and sent on to the author to rectify the omissions. If this is not possible the paper must await a meeting of the Committee which he does not think he can now arrange until early in May.
