TitleLetter from [Richard Vynne] Southwell to Frank [Edward] Smith, regarding a paper 'The yield of mild steel (with particular reference to the effect of size of specimen)' by J L M Morrison
Date22 October 1938
DescriptionPaper reference code: A.142

Would like the paper to be sent to a second referee. Believes Morrison should be able to critique the work of living authors in the paper. Was asked by Andrew Robertson to communicate the paper, and thought that the length would make the paper eligible only for Transactions [Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society]. Is concerned that the paper will be too long for an engineering journal, and believes Transactions to be the most suitable publication.
