TitleLetter from C T [Cecil Thomas] Carr, The Athenaeum, Pall Mall, to Sir Henry [Thomas] Tizard, 161 St. James's Court
CreatorCarr; Sir Cecil Thomas (1878-1966); British lawyer
RecipientTizard; Sir Henry Thomas (1885-1959); British physical chemist and science administrator
Date22 June 1937
DescriptionThe Athenaeum Committee met yesterday to confirm arrangements regarding the Royal Society Club dinners. The question of guests will not matter, so long as they are paid for by an Athenaeum member. The only remaining point of administration is late cancellations; the usual rule is to charge unless three days' notice is given. They would not stipulate so long a notice, but some should be given. Extra diners should be manageable; the stewart, Mr. Martin can always accomodate them. Carr suggests three days' notice for rough numbers, and a definite number the morning before the dinner.
