Date28 March 1939
DescriptionThanking Robertson for his letter and remarking that 'Macmillan ia a perfect nuisance'. The Secretary [of the Athenaeum Club] says that Macmillan objects to non-members paying for dinner, the obvious answer being to make them honorary members for the time, which Udal pointed out to him. Udal will talk to Macmillan again, but Tizard thinks they should stop payment to the steward, the Treasurer to collect money at the end of dinner.
