| Description | Evans was obliged for Shirreff's letter and was sorry not to have attended the meeting. He thinks that the adoption of the title 'Royal Learned Societies Club' would be a good idea, as 'they can hardly wish to set every Fellow of the Royal Society against you'. He doubts they will get the support of many Fellows and Evans is bound to the Athenaeum. He notes that the closeness of title would not be tolerated if it were the Law Society. He assumes his letter to Shipton was received. |
