Title | Letter from John W [Wesley] Judd, 30 Cumberland Road, Kew, to Dr [William Napier] Shaw |
Creator | Judd; John Wesley (1840-1916); British geologist |
Recipient | Woodward; Sir Arthur Smith (1864-1944); British palaeontologist |
Date | 8 June 1911 |
Description | He regrets he has overlooked the subscription and encloses a cheque. His deafness has increased and he has felt hopelessness of attending the Royal Society Club dinners, the charm of which resides in the general conversation. He signified to Treasurers his willingness to retire two years ago, but Dr Shae begged him to stay until he was eligible for honorary membership. He will gladly avail himself of Woodward's suggestion therefore, regretting the loss of a more direct connection. |
