TitleCopy letter from T G [Thomas George] Bonney, 9 Scroope Terrace, Cambridge, to 'Dear Professor' [William Whitehead Watts]
CreatorBonney; Thomas George (1833-1923); British geologist
RecipientWatts; William Whitehead (1860-1947); British geologist and educationalist
Date16 May 1918
DescriptionBonney has completed his work on the Philosophical Club's minute books. He describes how he has treated the activities of the Philosophical Club in his account, the text of which is longer than he anticipated. If printed exactly as the Annals of the Royal Society Club, it would run to approximately 300 pages. He notes some mitigating factors, but thinks that the general reader would like to be told something about Grove, Faraday , Tyndall and Sharpey. He wonders if the United Clubs would recoil from the prospect of a moderately sized book.
