Title | Copy letter from [Sir Dugald Clerk], to W W [William Whitehead] Watts, the Royal Society, Burlington House |
Creator | Clerk; Sir Dugald (1851-1935); British mechanical engineer |
Recipient | Watts; William Whitehead (1860-1947); British geologist and educationalist |
Date | 4 July 1919 |
Description | He has gone through Ballantyne's manuscript minutes and has approved and signed his modifications, although he was willing to go with Watts' draft recommendation. In response to the series of questions about Bonney's 'Annals of the Philosophical Club', he thinks that Club minute books should be returned to the Royal Society, 25 review copies should be sent out with the choice to be with Macmillan & Company, and a reminder should be sent to Abney. He asks if he or Watts should send a letter to Tilden about his subscription. Sir Archibald Geikie's case is different, since he put in so much effort for the 'Annals of the Royal Society Club', calling attention to the additional funds in the Club's balance sheets. Naturally he forgot about the guarantors. He thanks Watts for arranging the whole business. |
