Title | Letter from G W [George William] Lamplugh, 13 Beaconsfield Rd., St Albans, to [Alan Archibald Campbell] Swinton |
Creator | Lamplugh; George William (1859-1926); British geologist |
Recipient | Swinton; Alan Archibald Campbell (1863-1930); British electrical engineer |
Date | 31 May 1926 |
Description | Lamplugh wrote to Hardy yesterday, having waited to reply to him so that Lamplugh could see a specialist, [John Percy] Lockhart-Mummery. There is no doubt that he has cancer, but it is local, and he might live for a year or two. He thinks it best to resign his office this session, to prevent being troublesome. He will still come to [Royal Society Club] dinners when fit enough. He has suggested to Hardy that he should find two juniors [as Treasurers], noting to Swinton that Eccles, Dalby and Smithells have attended well. He hopes to take duty on 17 June, but not to the Annual Meeting. Train services are poor. He is glad to hear of Swinton's better health. |
