TitleLetter from G W [George William] Lamplugh, 13 Beaconsfield Rd., St Albans, to [Alan Archibald Campbell] Swinton
CreatorLamplugh; George William (1859-1926); British geologist
RecipientSwinton; Alan Archibald Campbell (1863-1930); British electrical engineer
Date18 June 1926
DescriptionHe is sorry that Swinton is ill. Lamplugh gives an account of the Royal Society Club dinner of the previous evening, with three 'rare birds' attending, so that they may be taken off the list of defaulters. Sir Hugh Kerr Anderson sent a letter of resignation, enclosed, which must be accepted. Regret was expressed at J J Thomson's resignation and he might be asked to reconsider. The membership vacancies would be brought up to ten, which he has noted in the draft report. He has to be at the Geological Club meeting next Wednesday and it is unlikely he will attend the Anniversary Meeting, although he cannot tell until the day what state his health will be in.
