TitleLetter from Elizabeth Bilson to Dr D Lal, Code GRD-A-020, Scripps Institute of Oceanography, University of California, San Diego, La Jolla, California
Date19 April 1977
DescriptionThey recall with pleasure his visit and the stimulating discussions they had. Cannot remember what she was supposed to send him regarding his request for grain size distribution. Asks him to remind her so she can send him what he needed. Asks if Lal had received the core samples mailed to him in December. Would like his comments on the paper enclosed which was submitted to the Proceedings of the 8th Lunar Science Conference on the subject of exposure history of those same core samples.

They recently finished a paper with Brian Hapke on the comparison of the results of Auger and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (ESCA) on the surface composition of lunar soil grains, This is the paper Hapke presented at the conference, but they would like to submit it to the Earth and Plan. Sci. Letters. She had noticed Lal is on the advisory editorial board of this journal, and asks if they could submit the paper through him as the intermediary.

Also sending him a section of the thesis by Gregory Williams.
