TitleLetter from Thomas Gold to Sir Fred Hoyle, Cockley Moor, Dockray, Penrith, Cumbria CA11 0LG, England
Date18 October 1977
DescriptionEncloses some of the pictures, which are in various formats.

On re-reading his text, Gold supposes that one could not really misunderstand the situation in relation to Gold's views, and so Hoyle might let it stand, as is, if he so wishes. However, Gold forgot to mention that 'mare' is the singular and 'maria' the plural, and that needs fixing throughout.

Encloses the introduction to Gold's paper on hydrocarbons. The story is quite fantastic, but Gold asks him to keep it to himself for another month or so. States that there is little doubt that enormous amounts of combustible gas come out t all major earthquakes. Discusses several, including Pasadena, and the effects.
