TitleLetter from Thomas Gold to Dr Walter H Munk, Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics, La Jolla Laboratories, University of California, La Jolla, California
Date7 December 1977
DescriptionGold expects Munk has his paper, and is wondering about it; especially the tsunami consideration. Discusses this.

States that since writing the paper they have unearthed a large amount of evidence, which, just as expected, shows that in many sea-centred earthquakes, the surface was seen to be 'bailing', sulferous smells were reported, flames were commonly reported, and even soot. He wonders whether Scripps can dig up more of this type of information, and asks him to let Gold know of anything in that line that he comes across.
