Title | Unpublished manuscript, 'On the inflexion of light' by John Barton |
Date | [1831] |
Description | Barton seeks to continue the work that Isaac Newton began on the inflection of light, recounting his experiments to this effect. Barton deduces that light is composed of material particles which obey the laws of elastic fluids due to repulsive powers.
John George Children's initials appear next to the date read. Annotations and deletions appear throughout in graphite and ink.
