| Description | He agrees in regard to the letter to Professor Delage. He should say something to the effect that Council would be glad of a report on the use the table has been put to since it was rented by the Royal Society. It is open for him to reapply next year, with no undertaking that the grant will be renewed. He is surprised that Council has hesitated. Roscoff is deserving, but there is no more reason to support it than the French Academy should support the Plymouth Laboratory. It is unlikely that the Roscoff table would be used in wartime.
With an attached memorandum from Robert Harrison to William Bate Hardy: 'Prof. Herdman asked me to show you this note; and if you concur I propose to draft a letter in the sense of it, for him to sign as Foreign Secretary RWH'. |
