Title | Copy letter from Ll. [Lloyd] S. Lloyd, to Sir William [Jackson] Pope, Chemical Laboratory, The University, Cambridge |
Date | 3 March 1919 |
Description | Hopes that Sir William [Jackson] Pope will remove what appears to be a misapprehension on his part. Notes that the Advisory Council could not have looked at his application [for a continued grant for research into colour sensitiser dyes] sooner.
Notes that Pope left the budget statement blank on his original application. However, apologises for not having a typist fill in more of the blanks on a form sent to Pope, as Lloyd was in a rush at the time.
Promises to write again after the meeting of the Advisory Council to transmit their decision. Thinks that Pope was not aware of all the facts when he wrote his letter of 2 March [CD/69/49, in which Pope withdraws his application], and gives him an opportunity to consider reconsidering the decision to withdraw his application. |
