| Description | Thanks the Royal Society for their attention to the matter of future arrangements to be made for the administration of the Meteorological Office. Understands the Royal Society's stipulation that if they are to continue being responsible for the control of the Meteorological Office, then the grant must be increased to allow for more scientific provisions. Regrets that there is not justification to ask this much money from Parliament, and that they cannot meet the Royal Society's conditions. Recommends that the Director of the Meteorological Office be given more control, and that he should be associated with a Committee composed of representatives interested in meteorological work, like the Admiralty, the Board of Agriculture and Fisheries, the Post Office, and the Treasury. |
