CitationLate Astronomer at Madras, and formerly 1st Asst Great Trigonometrical Survey of India. - Conducted the Great Indus Series of Triangulations, under peculiar difficulties, with great success. Assisted at the measurement of the Karachi Base Line, - Took the Astronomical Observations at Karachi Observatory, and determined the Mean Sea Level, and other verificatory works connected with the Geodetical Operations at that place.
Distinguished for his Mathematical acquirements, his knowledge of Astronomy and zeal for Science. Author of several papers in the Astronomical Society's Transactions, in the Asiatic Society & R Geographical Society.
