TitleSalt, George: certificate of election to the Royal Society
DescriptionCitation typed
CitationDistinguished for his studies on parasitic insects. He has provided the most detailed analysis of parasitic sex reversal in insects and of the morphological changes induced in parasites by the nature of their hosts. He has studied with great accuracy factors which determine host selection by parasitic insects and made original and important contributions to the ecology of insects living in the soil. In all these fields the author has developed new lines of approach and made outstanding contributions to academic and applied biology.
