Description | This section includes offprints of all Simon's research articles between 1922 and 1942 and newspaper cuttings and correspondence relating to Simon's work as Science Correspondent of the 'Financial Times', 1948-1951.
Though concentrating on these areas, the section also contains material on book reviews by Simon, papers relating to his public lectures, material on radio broadcasts made by Simon and correspondence between Simon and scientific publishers (including Simon recommending scientific papers by others for publication).
Post-1945, Simon took a keen interest in public debates on science and in articles and public lectures expressed his strong feelings on such topics as the UK Government's lack of an integrated fuel and power policy, the best utilisation of power supplies and levels of technological education in the UK. |
