DescriptionThompson served on the Executive Committee of the British Council 1966-1980. In 1966 he was invited to become a member of the Mixed Commission which met biannually in accordance with the terms of the British/German Cultural Convention. He succeeded the retiring scientific representative, Lord Todd. Thompson was also a member of the British/French Mixed Commission.
