ProvenanceCopy of photograph of Charles Darwin given to Sir Edward Stirling FRS. The photograph was passed to his granddaughter Mrs Judith S Woollard, who took it to Christies' auctioneers for valuation. They refused to accept the signature as genuine, so she worte to the Royal Society for advice anclosing a copy of the photograph. See Library general correspondence February 2000.
