Distinguished for his investigations in many branches of physical chemistry, e.g., surface tension and surface action, stability and reversal of emulsions, colloid phenomena, chemi-luminescence, photochemistry, and especially magnetism and molecular structure. Has devised a very accurate type of apparatus for measuring magnetic properties. Author of an important book on "Physical Principles and Applications of Magneto-chemistry" (Macmillan & Co., 1935). Has built up a very active and flourishing school of physico-chemical research at the University of Lahore and has obtained valuable endowments for it from the leaders of chemical industry in India. Author of 88 scientific papers, of which 34 deal with magnetic properties and molecular structure. (see list attached).
