Possesses an exceptionally wide knowledge of zoology. Has made many important contributions to our knowledge of the structure and classification of birds and to physical anthropology. His recent Presidential Address to the Norfolk and Norwich Naturalists Society entitled 'Some New Aspects of Evolution' is an excellent piece of work which has been reprinted by the Smithsonian Institution. He has done very valuable work as a populariser of science and is widely known for his many excellent articles and books on natural history. List of papers attached.
