CitationDunn, Johbn Shaw (Glasgow). Professor of Pathology, University of Glasgow.
Distinguished alike as a pathological histologist and experimental pathologist in various fields of investigation, especially renal disease, he has deeply influenced younger workers. His intensive researches over more than twenty years on the relation of functional renal disturbances to structural changes have thrown light on many questions, and have been pre-eminent in testing and establishing as an adequate explanation the modern theory of renal function in its applicability to pathological conditions. Incidentally, many new points of view have been developed on the capillary circulation. In a very complex field of investigaion he has made valuable and original contributions to knowledge.
