CitationHarris, Leslie James (Camabridge). D.Sc. Director of Nutritional Institute (Medical Research Council) Cambridge
Harris played an early and important part in the application of the theory of titration curves to amino acids, polypeptids and proteins. He introduced new and valuable methods in this field, and his work has received general recognition. Since 1927, as the result of his appointment to his present position, he has devoted himself almost entirely to vitamin research, and has published much work dealing with these substances. Into their study he has introduced new methods and modifications in method which have proved of much value, while he has made solid contributions to knowledge of their nutritional functions. He has inspired and supervised much work of others in the Institute of which he is Director. A list of sixty-four papers is attached.
