Distinguished for his researches on parasitic protozoa, especially trypanosomes. His works on trypanosomiasis in British sheep (1923), the life history of 'T. grayi' (1928-31), coccidia of vertebrates (1933), and coprozoic ciliates (1927) are generally recognised as of outstanding merit. His thorough knowledge of the Russian language has also been of great service to his colleagues, and he has edited the 'Zool. Rec. (Protozoa)' with conspicuous ability for 14 years. List of 53 publications attached.
