CitationMatthai, George (Lahore). Emeritus Professor of the University of Lahore (Punjab). He has engaged in the study and histology and budding of corals as determining the forms of colonies (Phil. TRans. 1926). He has worked for some years on the West Indian Reefs (Mackinnon Student) and Indian Reefs and has examined all type collections. He has revised the Astracidae in two generally accepted monographs (Trans. Linn. Soc. 1914, British Museum Catalogue 1928) and considered the evolutions (1940). He is now working on the colonial fungids. He has twice been President of the Indian Science Congress and is the author of much work on the Indian Fauna.
