Description | Regarding a resolution proposed by the Council of the Royal Society of Victoria which was 'unanimously adopted'. The resolution approves the proposal from the President of the Royal Society of London to create 'some form of union between that Society and such similar institutions in the British colonies'. Refers to the possibility of the Royal Society of London 'organising all the royal societies of the different colonies into one large federation under its own leadership', and expresses the support of the Royal Society of Victoria for this. Remarks on members of their Society that are also Fellows of the Royal Society of London, such as [Frederick] McCoy, [Robert Lewis John] Ellery, [Ferdinand Jacob Heinrich] von Mueller and [Julius von] Haast.
